Luxury Snow Fort Camping (Igloo/Quinzhee)

Camping in the snow! Typical Quinzhee design, this one is a little bigger than usual because we had access to a quad to pile the snow. I hunkered down and camped for the night after some fireworks and many step 2's. It stays quite warm in there even with just body heat. This is technically a quinzhee and not an igloo, but many people don't know what a quinzhee is. Winter Camping Solo on Vermont's Long Trail hiking with a dog

My dog Summit and I started from journey's end heading south. We got more snow than anticipated but the unknown is always the most interesting part of the journey. Join us for 3 days and 2 nights out on Vermont's long trail in the winter. Everyone is asking what type of dog, He is a mutt with my guess of Belgian Malinois/Lab. And no we don't carry weapons with us as there is nothing to fear out there but yourself.

Homemade TIN CAN Rocket Stove - DIY Rocket Stove - Awesome Stove! - EASY instructions!

Homemade TIN CAN ROCKET STOVE. Simple DIY. no special tools required. easy clear directions. This stove is great! Items needed: 3 metal cans, gravel/sand and/or dirt! that's it. only tools i used were a hacksaw, pliers and a drill. powerful stove. wind and rain resistant. can cook full meals using very little fuel (leaves, twigs and small sticks). i've even fueled these stoves just on "junk mail!". if you like the vid. please rate, subscribe and share. notes: main body of stove (largest can) is a one gallon paint can. bought it at home depot for $5. medium sized can is a pasta sauce can and the smallest can is a standard size soup can. i used a 2 1/2" hole saw to mark (score) the paint can UPDATE: (06/01/2018)… if interested, here’s a youtube video link to my newest rocket stove design. This one is also made with a one gallon paint can but has an extra-wide chimney, an extra-large fuel feed tube *and has a metal “shelf” built into the feed tube!
